The scalar slot dialog is used to configure and display a single scalar value. This is the old interface and can be shown by using the View and then Slot dialog button or by using the right-click options. The scalar slot can be undocked from the Slot Viewer (Scalar) and then displayed in its own dialog box by using the File and then Dock in Slot Viewer menu option or by dragging its icon on the Slot Viewer.

Table slots can be used to store any table of data. This can include a curve (2-Dimensional) or a surface (3-Dimensional), or several unrelated sets of values, such as the elevation volume table. They can be configured using the same options as scalar slots: Units, Display Format, Column Labels, and Row Labels. Table slots can be exported to a comma-separated values (CSV) file from the Slot dialog. This can be done manually or automated with a script.

Periodic slots have additional configuration options in the Slot Dialog and an icon in their column heading that indicates they are configured to either Lookup or Interpolate. When a periodic slot is configured to Lookup, the rows show only enough information to uniquely identify the date: for example, if the interval is 1 Month, only the month and day are shown, not the hour or minute. If a periodic slot is configured to Interpolate, the values are averaged over each duration starting with timestep 1, then taken as one result for this duration.
